Description: The Anacostia Park includes miles of river shore, a boat launch, multiple marinas, and an 18 hole golf course with putting range. Making it even more appealing are the picnic areas, athletic fields, and multiple use trails. Within the park limits there are playground areas, fishing areas, and even a swimming pool. The pavilion area has roller skates/blades to check out for use along the beautiful river trails.

Description: The National Mall is a must see in the DC area. The mall is bordered by monuments, memorials and amazing museums and filled with a a variety of great activities. There is a beautiful historic carousel, quirky street and food vendors, jogging trails, grassy picnic and sports areas, and of course the amazing wealth of history. The museums around the mall are some of the Nation's most prestigious, including the Smithsonian and Air and Space Museums, which are fun for the whole family. Entrance to the mall is free, and just walking around, seeing the sites, and visiting the memorials is worth the trip. Most of the museums surrounding can be accessed for various small fees, and there are passes to purchase allowing access to all of them.

Description: Rosaryville State Park is nearly 1000 acres of day use park with beautiful gardens, lots of trails for use by hikers, joggers, cyclists, and equestrians, and peaceful picnic areas for families and pets. Also on the grounds is the Mount Airy Mansion, one of the oldest homes in the area, which was originally connected to the Calvert Family. This amazing site is available for rent for your major events, and you'll be adding your mark to the mansion that has hosted visits from seven different presidents. Description: Admission to the National Zoo is free, but there is a fee for parking in the zoo parking lots. The National Zoo is home to over 2000 animals from 400 different species. The zoo grounds open at 6am, though the animals don't generally come out to be seen until closer to 10am. There are multiple spots to sit and picnic on the grounds, and a variety of scenic photo spots.

Description: Main park driving entrances: Fort Davis Drive and Ridge Road; Fort Davis Drive and Mass Ave, and Randle Circle and Fort Dupont Drive. One of the largest parks in Washington DC, the Fort Dupont National Park has picnic areas, nature walks, Civil War programs, gardens, music, ice skating, and a variety of free to use sports areas.

Description: Duncan's Family Campground has been operating for over 30 years, and is a great place to be close to DC, without being close to all the city noise. Duncan's has space for you to set up your own tents, but also has cabins for rent. On site is a mini-golf course, swimming pool, playgrounds, dog park, nature trail, and various sports activities for the whole family.

Description: Pohick Bay Campgrounds has over 1000 acres for campers to stay on. The grounds have 100 sites set up for RVs, and 50 tent sites. Reservations for weekends are strongly recommended for the RV sites.On the grounds are nature trails, a small convenience store, pool, and mini-golf.

Description: Capitol KOA is close to Washington DC's attractions, Annapolis, and Baltimore. Shuttles are offered during the Summer months. On the KOA grounds are many activities including, free WiFi, horseshoes, billiards, giant checkers and chess, pool, nature trails, and many scheduled group activities.

Description: Cherry Hill has 400 RV/tent sites for free use by travelers to the DC area. For those without RVs, there are cabins, trailers, and cottage rentals available. Other guest amenities include WiFi, cable television, pool, hot tub, sauna, mini-golf, lounge, arcade, and nature trail.

Description: Travel Trailer Village is a privately owned RV camp within the Prince William Forest Park. There are showers, a playground, laundry, and tour bus service on the grounds. Reservations are available year round, but there are seasonal restrictions on length of stay. March-October stays are limited to two weeks, and stays the rest of the year are limited to 28 days.
